Uganik Bay Salmon

Fishing is more than our livelihood—it is our way of life. My family's journey in Uganik Bay began in 1985 when my parents, Bud and Carol Lather, newly retired from the Coast Guard, decided to pursue a dream of raising their two daughters on the pristine waters of Kodiak. With no commercial fishing background, we learned through long days, hard work, perseverance, and a deep respect for the resource. 

What started as a father teaching his daughters to fish has blossomed into a proud fourth-generation fishing family. Today, our children and grandchildren work alongside one another each summer, carrying forward the fishing family tradition that has shaped our lives for decades. 

Life at our remote fishing camp teaches lessons that cannot be found in a classroom—commitment, responsibility, resilience, and the importance of teamwork. Every Uganik Bay Salmon we harvest represents generations of knowledge, countless hours of labor, and a shared commitment to producing the highest quality Alaska salmon possible. 

I am proud to continue my family's legacy in Uganik Bay and honored to share a small part of that tradition with every customer who enjoys our Uganik Bay Salmon.
