Fishing is more than our livelihood—it is our way of life.
My family's journey in Uganik Bay began in 1985 when my parents (Bud and Carol Lather) newly retired from the Coast Guard, decided to pursue a dream of raising their 2 daughters on the waters of Kodiak. With no commercial fishing background, we learned through long days, hard work, perseverance, and a deep respect for the resource.
What started as a father teaching his daughters to fish has grown into a fourth-generation fishing family. Today, children and grandchildren work alongside one another each summer, carrying forward the traditions, values, and work ethic that have shaped our family for decades.
Life at our remote fishing camp teaches lessons that cannot be found in a classroom—commitment, responsibility, resilience, and the importance of working together. Every salmon we harvest represents generations of knowledge, countless hours of labor, and a shared commitment to producing the highest quality fish possible.
I am proud to continue my family's legacy in Uganik Bay and honored to share a small part of that tradition with every customer who enjoys our salmon.

We are proud to offer premium, fisherman-direct wild Alaska salmon — harvested by our family and handled with care from the moment it leaves the water.

Our family’s commitment to sustainable fishing practices ensures the best product for our customers. Experience the taste of a genuine family legacy with every order.

Rooted in hard work, determination, and a lifelong love of family and the sea, our story is one of perseverance, tradition, and connection to the waters of Uganik Bay.
